Ahrens Heating & Cooling was only a dream for many years for us.  When the economy took a turn for the worse, Brion found he was laid off from the employer he worked loyally for, just 2 weeks after we found out Tracy was pregnant.  With 3 teenagers and a baby on the way, an unemployment population in Washington County topping 14% we decided we needed to take control of our situation and not rely on another employer holding our livelihood in their hands. That’s when we decided to turn lemons into lemonade! 

 Brion had almost 9 years experience in the HVAC industry, an education in HVAC and over 13 years under his belt repairing machines in general.  Tracy had a combined 10 years experience in accounting, business management and also business degrees.  It was only natural for our concepts to merge into a business where we could work together as a team to service our community and support our family.

 Though we knew our dream was not going to be easy to achieve, we were not afraid of the hard work ahead.  We value the lessons learned in tough times and know the importance of being independent. Our history of going back to college to earn degrees in record time while working full time with kids at home is a testament to our hard work and determination. We sure hope our kids learn from our example.

 We are both generous with our time and contribute to our community.  Brion coaches Little League even without a child on the team.  Tracy has been the Team Mom for almost every team her kids have been on. She was an active member of the West Bend Booster Club for both East & West High Schools for the 2006-2009 school years including serving as President. We look forward to many more years of being involved especially with youth sports and developing more substantial relationships with people we meet at West Bend Chamber events and also other local events. 

 We are fortunate to have a wonderful support system in our family, friends, colleagues, neighbors and community. Their kind words, suggestions, help and referrals are very much appreciated.  In a time when we have heard so many reasons to not pursue our dream we have had even more support from our peers that have helped us when we sometimes wondered if this was the right thing to do.

 So with just the little bit of money in our pockets, a great vendor, lots of hard work, the support of our wonderful family and friends, undying determination and a prayer, we’re moving ahead with Ahrens Heating & Cooling.
